Mumbai Indians signs Dinesh Karthik in the IPL transfer window.

 ACL T20 Champions Mumbai Indian have signed Tamil Nadu born Kings XI Punjab wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik in the transfer window. MI were did not have a proper wicket-keeper batsman and the Chennai born keeper can solve their problem.

Another Tamil Nadu born all-rounder R Satish will move to Kings XI Punjab as a part of Swap deal. BCCI sources said "It was a substantial sum and easily the highest in strictly trading terms,"  "Mumbai wanted a keeper. Punjab did not mind as they were getting a 
good amount of money."  

The owners of Kings XI stated "Dinesh played an important role for Kings XI Punjab last season, but with our captain Adam Gilchrist donning the wicket keeping gloves, we were unable to harness Dinesh's complete potential. Everybody at Kings XI Punjab wishes him the very best in his future endeavours."

Nita Ambani, the owner of MI said: "We are very pleased to add a player of Dinesh Karthik's calibre and specific skills to the Mumbai Indians squad as this addition will further strengthen our side."

Dinesh Karthik has scored 1085 runs in 59 IPL matches at an average of 25.80 and has affected 37 dismissals. Mumbai begin their IPL V campaign against the IPL IV Champions Chennai Super Kings in Chennai on April 4 2012.
